About Axminster Rug Yarn and The Little Rug Yarn Company

Axminster rug yarn is a 80% wool 20% nylon blend used commercially to make carpets. It is a very hard-wearing coarse yarn suitable for rug tufting, weaving and other crafts such as crochet, but would be very scratchy to wear.
Most colours are muted earthy shades and come in a range of thicknesses; they are what is left over at the end of a production run and may not be repeatable so make sure you buy enough for your project. Yarns with the 'bright' prefix are specially dyed and should be repeatable though.
I aim to restock every two to four months so let me know if there are any colours you want and I will do my best. I don't have a free choice though, it will depend on what is there.
