About Axminster Rug Yarn and The Little Rug Yarn Company

 

Axminster rug yarn is a 80% wool 20% nylon blend used commercially to make carpets. It is a very hard-wearing coarse yarn suitable for rug tufting, weaving and other crafts such as crochet, but would be very scratchy to wear.

Most colours are muted earthy shades and come in a range of thicknesses; they are what is left over at the end of a carpet production run and will not be repeatable so make sure you buy enough for your project. Yarns with the 'bright' prefix are specially dyed and may be back in stock later.

I aim to restock every four months or so. please let me know if there are any colours you want and I will do my best. I don't have a free choice though, it will depend on what is there.
