White. Not a bright bleached white nor a pale cream. So why grubby? It must have sat somewhere because the big cones I buy have grey discolouration at the ends, perhaps through sitting on something damp.
For general mixed colour work this is unlikely to matter much but if you want a pristine white panel this isn't the yarn for you.
